Dear Brain Bubbles...

Dear Brain Bubbles,

I bow down to you. I cannot stay away any longer. I was comfortably seated on my freezing cold couch yesterday upon arriving home, with all the blinds closed in order to avoid the 100 degree Chicago heat with all my power. I was perfectly fine, but then you started creeping on me as I perused proteacher. I crept out of my darkened, glorious apartment to the unbearable heat to make the 2 minute trip to dollar tree. Where you wonderful little guys crept into my cart:

(Yes, that's about 20-22 packages of the infamous plastic brain bubble packages. I realized I probably didn't need that many, but I will find them a purpose! I may actually use the square ones to give my thirdies (which btw doesn't sound nearly as cute as firsties, or maybe I'm just bitter I am changing grades) to use them to store their WTW sort cards. We shall see... otherwise I may have some plastic brain bubbles up for sale.)

Anyway, I'm a little upset and a little joyous that you have come into my life. I will be using you in my classroom. Hopefully my 30 little friends will be using you to make themselves a little smarter. I can't wait to arrive home in a few hours so I can begin assembling parts of you, while I wait for rest of your insides to arrive in the mail.

Here are the labels I'm using for my Brain Bubbles, plus polka dot ones of course.
I'll probably use pink for math and green for language arts, or the opposite.

The big round circle will go on the outside of the basket that holds them. Enjoy!

I must be living under a rock...whats a brain bubble??

Basically it's little trivia/challenge questions inside each bubble. I'm going to have 2 bins of them with LA and Math questions. Then if my kiddos happen to finish their work early they can go to the bin, grab a question and answer it. I'll post more when I'm done with the other sheets.

Hi Krysty! I hate to even ask, but is there anyway you can post the polka dot brain bubble labels in the blue like you have for your binders? I already painted my crate and it is blue polka dots. Thank you so much!!

I'm trying to resist the Brain Bubbles, but I don't know for how long, since I keep hearing about them. Your labels are so cute.

Kirsten - Do you want them ALL in Blue? Or maybe 2 shades of blue? Let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Yearn - I tried to avoid it for so long, and I couldn't do it any longer!!

Hi again! Can I just get one set in blue (I am going to do the other set in the pink so I know which is LA and which is math))? I Love your blog-it is wonderful!!!

This might be a silly question, but where do you get the questions? Do add news ones as the year goes by or change them out every so often? I LOVE the idea and have never heard of it. I might have to do this :-)

Hi Christie! Thank you for sharing the creations! If it's not too much trouble, can I have a bright blue instead of the pink? My bubbble holders are bright blue and lime green. The green will work perfectly for me. Also, how did you stick them on the tops of the bubbles? My "bubbles" are actually square so I'm not sure if I'm going to call them that. I might have to do brain boxes instead although bubbles sound much cuter. Oh, such a pickle I'm in! What are your thoughts?

I bought the Mind Builder books from the Mailbox (they were on clearance!!). I will probably make some questions as well.

Lisa - Do me a HUGE favor and e-mail me at TeachinHeels@gmail.com and I'll make them for you, then I can just send them to you. I printed them on the sheets of 10 labels and then cut them out. You could always buy glue dots and stick them on using those.

I have about 15 packages of the squares too (yea, I went crazy). What about cranium cubes? LOL you could get your kids using big words?!?

If there is anyway you could do the labels in brown and blue, I would be forever in your debt. My room is in the "hot to dot" by Barker Creek color scheme. <3 Thanks so much! Your blog has got me off the couch and inspired to start the new year!

Just found your blog and I love this idea! I'm not sure I have the energy for it right now but I will definitely be storing it in the back of my brain!

I am having difficulty finding the plastic bubble containers. Any suggestions?

Fantastic Fourth Graders - I got them at Dollar Tree I think. It was a dollar store, I know that, but I'm pretty sure it was Dollar Tree. Honestly I used to have a whole tupperware (I know I overestimated) full of them. I'd be more than willing to send them off to you if you could find some. Let me know :)
