Back to School Papers

Now I know the last thing I should be worried about right now is my papers I need for back to school, but my main goal for this summer was to bring home all of my binders to organize. I honestly don't have that many. I have my messy tendencies and I can be a temporary hoarder... like for instance throughout the year at some point there will become a huge pile of masters for different things we did. It looks horrible, but by the time the last day of school rolls around the majority of them are recycled. This is why my file cabinet sits empty year round just looking ugly and taking up space. I do not believe in using file folders for papers, not do I believe in keeping things just because "one day I'll need it." I know I'm probably in the small percentage, probably like the -1%... yea I said negative... that does this. Most teachers I know keep things, everything just in case. I have become a thrower-outter. My wordage is fantastic tonight!! ;-)

So anyway, aside from trying to convince you to join my thrower-outter club, I thought I'd share the major papers I use at the beginning of the year. I keep a binder just for these specific papers, each master in it's own sheet protector, along with the forms the school gives us (food form, library form, internet form, 3rd grade district goals, etc.) that way I just take it to the copy room, copy what I need and tah-dah I'm done!! :) There are only a few, but here they are:

On a totally side note, anyone else live in the Chicago area? It was like 8 million degrees today? The boy and I went on an adventure because this girl was determined to find a specific bathing suit from VS. Yes, he went on the adventure with me, his idea. Amazing. We managed to find the smallest VS ever, combined with the Semi Annual and the 100 degree heat... made for a miserable Christie!! But anyway to add to it, it hasn't rained in like, I dunno, forever. It's supposed to continue to be miserable for like ever. Thanks for listening to my rant :) Hopefully you're nice and cool somewhere! Nighty lovelies!!

I'm in that -1% with you in the thrower-outer club. Sometimes it makes me question my real teacherness. :)

I went to VS for a swimsuit yesterday and it was CRAZINESS in there! I waited forever for a fitting room!!

I am also a thrower-outter, mostly because I came into my room and inherited 25 years of papers that people "hung onto just in case." It was ridic - I found notes from moms dating back like 10 years. Notes that said, "Bobby has a sore throat and won't be at school today." Who even kept that in the first place?? Ay yi yi.

And yeah it was hot today! I wore the lightest sun dress I could possibly find and I was still dying!!! Also ABC7 just said we only missed the record high for today by 1 degree!

Marvelous Multiagers!

I live in a suburb of Milwaukee and the lack of rain is getting scary. I cannot remember a dryer June than this.

Thanks for sharing these forms, they are wonderful!
I am a throw away gal myself! I don't worry about it because most of my forms are digital. However, most of my teammates last year kept now digital files. :( I would often lose what they shared with me, and have to recreate it all over again, because they handed it to me right before school started and I just set it down.

Can you make some with Zebra stripes? LOVEEEEEE THEM!

Also, Do you put those out at like meet the teacher or fist day of school send them home? I am a first year teacher and sometimes I need things explained. I never had my OWN class :)

Thank you for posting these forms! I love the reading interview one!

Thanks everyone!! I'm glad to hear there are more thrower-outters out there :) Don't save everything people!!

Megan - I really can't make them zebra because there isn't really room for a border. I tried to add a border, but I had to make the font a lot smaller. I'd make them in black and white, but you'll probably print/copy in black and white anyway :) I usually put a packet on each kids desk with these and instructions on what to do when we have our open house before school starts. The parents can fill them out then, or take them home and send them in the first day of school with the kiddos. Hope that helps!!

Thank you for the forms! They're lovely! As miserable as you all are in Chicago, we are sufferin' in Texas :p 100 plus degrees most days this week. We FINALLY got some a day or so ago, but we're under a sever drought so I don't think we'll be getting that lucky again...unless it's in the form of a tropical storm or hurricane :(

These look great - love the font. Would you mind sharing what it is? Thanks!

I bet you it is hotter here....we hit about 116 today!

Hey, I've become a thrower-outer too. I have a nasty pile that I usually go through mid year and then at the end of the year. And by go through, I mean dump in the recycle bin. I LOVE that most of the things I use are digital and don't take up physical space to store and organize.

I love the font you used for the body of your forms, what is it?

I am completely brand-new to your blog and teacher's notebook store (which I just spent an hour in, btw) and I don't understand how this all works - (I know, what idiot doesn't know this kind of stuff???) Do I purchase these forms somewhere and then print them myself? I tried looking in the TN store but maybe I'm searching in the wrong place. I also am interested in the DOT binder covers and all that is involved with that. Purchase? Download? Help!!! :)

Hello,
I am brand new to blogging and ran across your site on pinterest. It is absolutly AMAZING! I love all your things. I have purchased and downloaded much of your zebra theme items. I was wondering if you would be willing to share where you got the black squiggle frame on your STRIPE binder? I wanted to make some things to match it.

Thank you
Hallie

I love your blog and all of the resources you've created. In the past I have handed out similar forms at the BOY, but they are so boring to look at and don't provide all the information on yours. Thanks for sharing this! I do have one problem... I'm not sure why, but when I try to print or save the doc from google docs, only the headers of each page show. The rest of the font turns to random thick black lines. Help please so that I may use your fantastic resource, too!

Thanks!
Amy

You know you should cover your filing cabinet with contact paper. Maybe a duct tape border to hid the seams. Then just rip it off!
